Nearly 1 Million New Millionaires Emerged in 2-025

Global personal wealth saw massive growth throughout 2025. In fact, nearly one million new US dollar millionaires appeared worldwide. This news comes from the latest Global Wealth Report by UBS. Stronger financial markets drove this massive surge in asset values. Consequently, total personal wealth grew much faster than in previous years.

Rapid Rise in Global Personal Wealth

The report shows that global personal wealth jumped by 10.8% in 2025. This represents a huge leap from the 4.6% growth seen in 2024. Furthermore, the 2023 growth rate sat at only 4.2%. UBS noted that better investment performance across financial markets fueled this expansion. As a result, wealth creation hit record levels. This trend also increased the number of high-net-worth individuals globally.

The United States Leads the Way

The United States produced the largest group of new millionaires. Specifically, more than 440,000 people reached millionaire status this year. This number accounts for almost half of the global increase. Therefore, the US remains the primary driver of worldwide wealth growth. Meanwhile, Europe also saw strong gains in US dollar terms. This happened because the US dollar weakened against the euro.

Growing Wealth Inequality Concerns

However, UBS issued a warning about these rising numbers. They noted that people do not share these benefits equally. While average wealth rose, median wealth fell in many nations after 2020. This suggests that wealth is concentrating among the richest households. In contrast, many middle-income families saw much slower financial progress.

For this annual study, UBS analyzed 56 different markets. These markets represent over 92% of all global wealth. Ultimately, the findings show a complex picture. Financial markets are creating millionaires at a record pace. Nevertheless, rising wealth inequality remains a major challenge for global economies. Most nations still seek more balanced and inclusive long-term growth.
